Veho and RIVR partner to transform last-mile delivery—starting this May in Austin, Texas

The future of delivery isn’t coming. It’s already rolling through Austin.
Veho, the fastest-growing alternative parcel logistics and delivery platform in the U.S., is teaming up with physical AI and robotics pioneer RIVR to pilot autonomous delivery robots. Together, we’re testing a new kind of delivery model—one that puts people first and uses intelligent automation to improve speed, efficiency, and customer experience.

Yes, And– not Either, Or
Let’s be clear—this isn’t about replacing people. It’s about helping them do more with less.
In this pilot program, humans and robots will work together to power an efficient delivery experience. A RIVR employee will act as the driver-partner while the robot assists —navigating stairs, gates, and sidewalks to reach the doorstep, following customer instructions, and capturing delivery confirmation through the Veho app.
By working in tandem, we hope to unlock a smarter, more scalable delivery experience that reduces physical strain, increases throughput, and maintains the high-quality experience Veho is known for.

“When it comes to delivery, customers care most about cost, reliability, and speed. This partnership is a bold step in testing whether human-robot collaboration can improve all three—without sacrificing experience.” - Itamar Zur, Veho CEO and co-founder
Real-World Deployment Starts in Austin
Beginning in May 2025, Veho and RIVR will launch robots in Austin, TX. RIVR employees will accompany the robots during this initial phase to monitor performance, ensure safety, and collect hands-on insights that will inform expansion to other cities later this year. If successful, the pilot could pave the way for new ways robots can support driver-partners on the road.

Built for the Last 100 Yards
While many robots today are limited to sidewalks or curbside delivery, RIVR’s physical AI and wheeled-leg design allow it to handle real-world challenges: uneven sidewalks, stairs, gates, and dense delivery routes. Unlike drone or sidewalk robots, RIVR is purpose-built for the final stretch of urban delivery.
“With the rise in e-commerce, the last mile has become the most complex—and critical—link in logistics,” said Marko Bjelonic, CEO of RIVR. “Our mission is to put one million robots in the field. This partnership with Veho is a major milestone toward that vision.”

Veho Technology
Veho’s in-house tech stack, flexible network, and 75,000+ driver-partners create the ideal environment to test and scale automation technologies like RIVR’s.
- 50+ U.S. markets served
- 30+ distribution centers
- 99% on-time delivery
4.9/5 customer satisfaction
The result? A perfect testing ground for cutting-edge robotics that support an unmatched customer delivery experience.

What’s Next
As we learn from the Austin pilot, Veho and RIVR will evaluate expansion into other markets. The goal isn’t just to innovate—it’s to reinvent how delivery happens at scale, combining human intuition with robotic precision to unlock a better experience for everyone.
We’re proud to be building this future together.
