Occupational Accident Insurance

Accidents are rare (we hope they never happen), but we think it’s important to be prepared. All drivers are required to have insurance that provides personal injury protection while driving on the Veho platform.

Description of policy

Veho has partnered with Crum & Forester to provide an Occupational Accident Insurance option to all drivers, which provides personal injury protection. Below are several details about this option:

  • Coverage costs 2.1 cents per mile based on the expected distance driven on a route
  • Insurance costs will be deduced directly from pay, with no extra action required from you
  • All relevant deductions will be itemized on payment statements

There is an Accidental Death and Dismemberment Benefit associated with this coverage. You are responsible for designating a beneficiary, by contacting the United State Fire Insurance Company directly at the below address. For your convenience, you have the option of completing and sending this Beneficiary Designation form.

If allowed by state law, you may be eligible to opt-out of compensation requirements. To do this, please follow the below process:

  • Complete a Statement Affirming Exemption.
  • Obtain a copy of your alternative compensation/occupational accident insurance policy, or exemption certificate.
  • Submit documents from steps 1 and 2 above to Veho in electronic form by emailing support@shipveho.com.
  • Our support team will work with you to validate your exemption and update our pay deduction process accordingly.

Blue Star Claims will provide all information about how to file a claim. You will be asked to complete the Claimant Form as part of this process, which you may fill out proactively to expedite your claim.
