AI Meets Logistics: Veho and RIVR's Strategic Partnership in Robotic Parcel Delivery

AI Meets Logistics: Veho and RIVR's Strategic Partnership in Robotic Parcel Delivery

At Veho, we’ve always believed that the best logistics solutions start with one question: How do we make delivery work better for people—brands, consumers, and drivers-partners alike?

Today, I’m excited to share a bold step forward in answering that question.

We’re partnering with RIVR, a physical AI and robotics company, to test AI-powered delivery robots that will support driver-partners on their delivery routes—starting this month in Austin, Texas.

These robots aren’t here to replace people. They’re here to work with people, enabling faster, more scalable deliveries while maintaining the high-touch experience Veho is known for.

What We're Testing—and Why It Matters

In this pilot, humans and robots will work together to power an efficient delivery experience. A RIVR employee will act as the driver-partner while the robot assists —avigating real-world obstacles like stairs, gates, and uneven sidewalks to reach the customer’s doorstep.

During the test, the RIVR team will be walking alongside it—learning, improving, and gathering data every step of the way.

This isn’t automation for automation’s sake. It’s a thoughtful experiment with real-world impact. If successful, the pilot has the potential to reduce physical strain on driver-partners by allowing robots to handle more of the repetitive or physically demanding work. It could also significantly improve route efficiency, improving on time delivery for customers. With improved efficiency comes the opportunity to lower delivery costs for the shippers, all while maintaining speed and consistency in getting parcels to customers’ doors.

Equally important, we’re focused on protecting the brand experience our clients count on—ensuring that even as we scale, the delivery experience remains customizable, seamless, and high quality.

In other words, this approach is “Yes, And”—not “Either, Or.” It’s not about replacing the human touch. It’s about using industry-leading technology to enhance it.

In other words, it’s “Yes, And”—not “Either, Or.”

Why Now—and Why RIVR?

The last 100 yards of delivery remain one of the most complex and costly parts of the e-commerce journey. Traditional sidewalk robots and drones have shown promise, but they often fall short in real-world environments.

RIVR’s wheeled-legged design and Physical AI make a real difference. RIVR robots can navigate tight spaces, climb stairs, and handle dense urban routes—making them viable for the scale and complexity of Veho’s network.

At Veho, our technology is built in-house– allowing us to move quickly, adapt what we learn in real time, and scale new innovations faster than traditional carriers. Our purpose-built technology platform is what made this partnership possible.

Looking Forward

Austin is just the beginning. We'll learn from every delivery. And if the results match the promise, we’ll expand to additional markets later this year.

This is what innovation looks like when you build for people—when you ask how technology can support humans, not replace them.

I'm incredibly proud of the work our teams are doing alongside RIVR. Stay tuned—we’ll be sharing insights and updates from the field soon.
